It is important to remember that the shapes will be proportional to one another only if they reference a single common element. For example: in the map of the UK for the 88% symbol and the 36% symbol to be proportional, you must first draw a symbol that represents 100% and reference them to that one. You can then delete that symbol once the others are constructed.

Hi,

Is there anywhere a more detailed workflow on how to create the data-driven infographics? I am a newbie and I have problems realising a simple graph (like the example with the UK market share in % or the sadder example with US death penalty).
What I have managed so far:
1. Inserted the map I wanted
2. Inserted the image I wanted scaled based on a data table.

Then my problems started. Right click on image, edit the BeGraphic parameters, select "scale" and select the cell that has the data (%) I want the image to be scaled with.
Insereted a second image, repetaed the above with a different cell. The result is that the images are untouched (e.g. are not proportional with the data). When clicking on "update animation" I get the same error ("ThrowIf failed. Requested clipboard operation did not succeed").

I'm sure I'm missing a point somewhere so some hekp or a step-by-step tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It was very helpful, but i have a doubt, once i have done the graphic i wanted, if a sort the table from were i'm getting the scale it changes everything. How can i do if for example i have the world map with countries and a table of countries with some data and i want the reference cell for the objects i'm scaling to be the one of the row of the right country even after i sort it?

Dear BeGraphic user,

I am not sure the "OFFSET" function would be interesting for you.

You have to have two dashboards :
  • one which is staying fixed for BeGraphic (it can be hidden)
  • one with possible re-order for printing

Regards
