The "Scale" feature in gauge parameters needs work. The manual method does not allow you to alter the font color. Thus, if the background color is black it is washed out. Also, the "automatic" feature needs some options. Its places values in the gauge based on the data. Thus, the large values either appear truncated or out of proportion. The "Graduations Units" is bewildering and makes no sense.

I should be able to default it to break it out by percentage with each major tick representing a 10% increment.

Hello TryingHard,

Thanks for using BeGraphic.

Concerning your request, BeGraphic does what you expect by using the custom "Scale / Graduations' labels / Manual":
  • The font color is linked to the one inside label's cells: it gives you the possibility to use the conditional formatting option.
  • Thus, we agree with you that you have to put a font color different from the background color. Do it by changing the color of the font directly in the Excel cell.
  • If you want to show some percentages, please add in your worksheet some calculated ratio - in other cells that will become the graduation's labels (by using the "manual" option).

How to use the "manual" option (to customize the labels inside the gauge):

Best regards,
The BeGraphic Team.

There will be a third solution in the beginning of 2011. There will be a version Pro of BeGraphic that will include a full PowerPoint 2007/2010 version (or at least “dynamic update” of any graphics and charts).
