Post subject:  How to create pie-charts on a map

Hi Team BeGraphic,

I want to create a graph similar to "Maps | Market share + profit in South" from http://www.begraphic.com/interactive-maps.html. But I have no idea how to create a pie chart using BeGraphic add-on. Could you guys provide a tutorial for us to create pie charts? Thanks.

Alex

I think I figured it out by the SFE function, but how come my piechart has a inner circle?

First you have to build the pie chart using :
  • the usual Excel charting engine (note: take out all details such as caption)
  • or the micro-charts library included inside BeGraphic ("SFE" menu)

Then you have to put this pie chart on the maps. There are two possibilities :
  • directly put the usual pie chart on the map (put an invisible background : format chart area / fill / no fill)
  • or use the "sub-dashboard" function to copy a range of cell (showing a pie chart) on the map

Note : the "sub-dashboard" function is the one that allows you to dynamically change the total size of the pie chart (not only its slices).
